Commercial Properties still not complying with Energy Rules!

Recent analysis of the commercial property market is showing that around 61% of marketed commercial properties are still not compliant with the law imposing an obligation to have available a commercial Energy Performance Certificate.  With pressure coming to crack down on non-compliant buildings it is more important than ever to make sure you are not breaking the law.  Penalties for not having an EPC available for inspection are 12.5% of the rateable value of the property with a minimum fine of £500 and a maximum of £5,000 plus a requirement to produce a valid certificate within 7 days.

Fortunately for R K Lucas & Son’s clients we are fully qualified to not only produce the certificate but to also understand the legal obligations so that our clients are not put to any risk of such fines or restrictions.
